HIV Services in South Australia

AIDS Council of South Australia LogoACSA is a health promotion agency active in developing and supporting affected and at-risk communities and promoting the prevention of HIV/AIDS. Their vision is "a future free of HIV" and they involve key client groups including gay men, people who inject drugs and sex workers in their prevention and education programs aiming to improve the health and well-being of those communities.


SAVIVE Logo SAVIVE is the injecting drug users' community program of the AIDS Council of South Australia. It works to promote better health for people who inject drugs, their families and the broader community.


SIN Logo SIN is funded as a health promotion project which aims to support the current high standards of sexual health among South Australian sex workers. Their mission is to improve the working lives of sex workers and they are committed to promoting pride and empowerment throughout the sex industry.


Gay Men's Health Logo Gay Men's Health is committed to working with all gay, bisexual and same sex attracted men in South Australia. Their aim is to improve the sexual, social and emotional health of gay, bisexual and other men who have sex with men. Their focus is on sexual health and HIV-related issues, but offer a wide range of services to inform and support men in making healthy choices in their lives.


MOSAIC LogoMOSAIC services supports the health and emotional wellbeing of people living with and affected by HIV/AIDS or hepatitis C. They provide free and confidential counselling, case management support, advocacy and problem solving support, as well as information and referrals to relevant community or health services, to people affected by HIV/AIDS or hepatitis C. This includes children, adolescents, women and men who are diagnosed with, or at risk of, HIV or hepatitis C, and their family, friends and carers.


RDNS LogoRDNS runs a specialist nursing service that works closely with other organisations and individuals within the HIV sector to facilitate comprehensive and coordinated care. Clinical Nurses provide direct nursing services to clients in their own homes with the aim of promoting independence and self care.


Centacare Cheltenham Place Logo

 

Cheltenham Place provides short term residential care for HIV positive people. It also provides short term respite care for carers of HIV positive people. People typically stay 1 or 2 weeks, sometimes longer. The service is designed to assist and benefit HIV positive clients and their carers. Client goals are set for each admission.


HIV Women's Project LogoThe HIV Women's Project aims to enhance the health and well being of HIV positive women and their families in South Australia. The project provides confidential support, information, referral and advocacy as well as facilitating a monthly support group for HIV positive women to meet and share experiences.


PEACE Multicultural Services LogoPEACE (Personal Education And Community Empowerment) supports and assists individuals, families and communities from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds to lead balanced and healthy lives. Particular focus is placed on helping people with issues relating to Problem gambling, HIV and Hepatitis C.
