Objectives of the Association:

  • To promote a positive image of people with HIV/AIDS, with the aim of eliminating prejudice, isolation and discrimination arising from HIV/AIDS.

  • To provide high quality services and facilities which address needs of HIV+ people, through the Positive Living Centre.

  • To provide at the Positive Living Centre, information, practical assistance, a range of health and social programs, including assistance with essential personal transport; and a caring , supportive environment for people living with HIV/AIDS and those most affected by HIV/AIDS.

  • To encourage HIV+ people to take power in their lives and develop quality of life.

  • To advocate on behalf of individual HIV+ people to address barriers to their ability to live independently.
  • To liaise closely with other agencies to further the Objectives of the Organisation.

  • To lobby, alongside like-minded organisations, for retention of existing services, to address gaps in services and to challenge unjust policies and practices in SA.

  • To include a wide variety of means for members and other HIV= people to participate at all levels within PLWHA (SA) and its programs.

  • To be an accountable, responsible and  independent organisation.

  • To develop and maintain a sound, diverse, financial base.
